Halitosis

Halitosis commonly known as "bad breath" can be caused by gum disease, poor oral hygiene, infections in the mouth such as dental caries, draining sinus and systematic/respiratory  or gastrointestinal issues.  People with dry mouth are also at an increased risk of experiencing bad breath.

Good daily oral hygiene that includes brushing both the teeth and tongue, flossing and oral mouth rinses are an effective way to combat bad breath.  An excellent alternative to brushing your tongue is to use a tongue scraper to remove any excess bacteria buildup - be sure to ask for one at your next checkup!  If the problem persists then contact us and/or your physcian.
